Everyday Carry, or EDC, generally refers to small items or gadgets worn, carried, or made available in pockets, holsters, or bags on a daily basis to manage common tasks or for use in unexpected situations or emergencies. In a broader sense, it is a lifestyle, discipline, or philosophy of preparedness.

Editor’s Note: Fellow everyday-carry.com reader, Alex Kohlhofer, was inspired to start his own EDC and even set up a blog to document its changes and development. It’s always great to hear from people who’ve gotten some good ideas from this site, hopefully some of you guys can find things to take away from Alex’s site too. Thanks for sharing and keep it up!

My mind was blown when I realized that Izaya Orihara from the anime series Durarara! keeps what appears to be a Spyderco CentofanteIII as his EDC knife. I’ve been an anime fan longer than I’ve been into EDC and knives so I didn’t make the connection until now.
Editor’s Disclaimer: lol so this type of post almost further reinforces arguments against EDCers with knives as posing as mall ninjas… and probably a very few percentage of you will appreciate/understand this post when I say that my life could probably be turned into an anime about an EDC maleblogger engineering nerd on a university campus struggling to nanpa girls to no avail despite having the tools on hand to fix their broken sunglasses, share an umbrella in the rain, light up a dark and scary road while walking one home after a long night at the library, and I’ll just stop now
