your statement is incorrect. Anodizing doesn't chip, as it is a chemical bond with the aluminum, it can however fade and be scratched depending on the quality of the anodizing and aluminum. The chipping on the clip is due to it being, most likely, teflon or titanium plated, since it is steel.
