Everyday Carry, or EDC, generally refers to small items or gadgets worn, carried, or made available in pockets, holsters, or bags on a daily basis to manage common tasks or for use in unexpected situations or emergencies. In a broader sense, it is a lifestyle, discipline, or philosophy of preparedness.

Discovered your blog about six months ago when researching a replacement for a lost SAK: had never heard of EDC before but have been carrying torches and pocket knives around with me since I was a little kid. Went for a Leatherman micra in the end, and also upgraded the torch. Thanks for running the blog, keep up the good work. TR

Editor’s Note: Good choice on the Micra and LD01 for keeping a lightweight, minimal carry. I’ve owned both and I’m pretty sure both of those could easily fit in say, your jeans’ coin pocket just fine. I like that your keys are left to just the essentials without unnecessary hardware. The Opinel is another good option for a simple, general EDC knife that doesn’t look too aggressive. Lastly, the handkerchief is an underrated and undercarried item IMO, so it’s nice to see one included. Thanks for sharing a good example of an affordable, functional and less ‘tactical’ carry. Keep it up and carry on~
