Everyday Carry, or EDC, generally refers to small items or gadgets worn, carried, or made available in pockets, holsters, or bags on a daily basis to manage common tasks or for use in unexpected situations or emergencies. In a broader sense, it is a lifestyle, discipline, or philosophy of preparedness.

Hello and greetings from Sweden!
I just found your blog and the whole concept of Everyday Carry, fascinating! I’m just finishing my Bachelor of Industrial Design here in Sweden and it is really nice to see the process people have chosen their attires.
Here is my EDC. No flashlight in this picture because it’s in my coat, I don’t wear it in my blazer.
- Motorola Milestone
- V-Moda Vibe Duo
- Schnauzer Treats
- Keys with small LED
- Wedding ring
- Glasses
- Marina homage from Jackson TSE on leather strap
- Kingston 32 GB (portable software and all CAID-files)
- Moleskin and some markers
- Small exactoknife
- Wallet
- Sanrenmu 704 (great small and cheap knife)
Thanks for a great read!
Editor’s Note: I had a feeling from the dedicated USB lanyard, the Moleskine and variety of pens and markers that you’d be some kind of designer, so your choices in carry options make perfect sense. I’d like some more info on your small exactoknife too! The SRM 704 at around $10 and 2.5” looks like a good knife for people who want to start carrying one but aren’t ready to drop a lot of money on the ‘brand name’ models. You’ve introduced me to some interesting gear, so thanks for sharing!

Hey, just thought I would make a submission after reading for so long, keep up the EDC spirit!
Includes:
Wallet
Sunglasses
Leatherman Skeletool CX
LED Touchscreen watch
M5 5mm Zebra pencil (pencils don’t freeze!)
8GB drive
Credit-Card Lockpick set
Keys with S-biner
Motorola Milestone phone
I use everything here almost every day, the sunglasses get used the least (I live in Newfoundland, Canada), and can wear all of it comfortably all day at work. I’m looking for a good flashlight, but my phone serves for the moment, and you wouldn’t believe how handy lock picking is in the telecom industry.

“Be Prepared”
Editor’s Note: Clean loadout, except maybe I’d try to slim down the wallet so you can more easily carry the credit card-sized lock pick set. If you’re looking for a flashlight, I think a small floody light would work well in your line of work, right? Check out something like the 4sevens Preon with clicky, or some Zebralights if you’d prefer having the option of hands-free operation. The Zebralights are pretty versatile and impressively bright and feature-packed for their size. Good luck and thanks for sharing!

CRKT M16-13T
Boker Automat Kalashnikov 74
Spec Ops Brand Wallet T.H.E. wallet
Car Key with streamer
Iphone 4 with Griffin Elan Graphite case
Sandisk USB stick
SS Noose key chain by Jeff Decker (A present from the man himself)
Surefire 6P Led Defender
Editor’s Note: Nice, here’s a more tactical loadout without being too cumbersome. I like the balance of having three large tools with a slim wallet, phone, and keychain. The keychain hardware looks nice and sturdy, and good call on separating your vehicle key from it. What I like about the 6PL is that it can easily be upgraded to newer LEDs if you think you need better output. Thanks for sharing!

Been reading your tumblr for a while now, decided to take my first stab at EDC. I’m a college student finishing his master thesis and am limited in both funds and available pocket space (skinny jeans aren’t great for carry), so focus is on size and affordability.
From left to right:
Asthma inhaler
True EDC: simply can’t leave home without it.ITP A1 EON SS R2 light
The cheaper clone of the 4Sevens Mini123 - real tiny and cute on my keychain, but with a surprising output from its CREE LED.Lacie Iamakey 8GB
Plastic keychain USB sticks tend to break off. This one is made entirely out of metal.Troika slim wallet
Combined slim moneyclip and cardholder. Designed to hold 3 cards, but carries my minimum 7 (ATM card, creditcard, health insurance, driver’s license, buscard, railcard, AAA).Apple iPhone4
Applied a wraparound sticker (against deathgrip) and a Leica vinyl decal (just for fun).Prometheus CR1
Portuguese brand that built a Sinn style watch from Asian parts, but with quality control in Europe. You get a hefty toolwatch (7750 style mechanical chronograph, scratchproof sapphire glass, etc) for an extremely low price, without the QC problems that often plague Chinese watches.Victorinox Tinker small swiss army knife
Smallest SAK that has screwdrivers, the tool I most regularly need. I love wine but if I have the time to drink it, I probably have the time to find a proper corkscrew.
Editor’s Note: Nice, I can tell you put some thought into the carry while minding a budget too. The result is a stylish, non-threatening, utilitarian general EDC without breaking the bank. The Tinker is one of my favorite SAK configurations too. Good job keeping that keyring and wallet streamlined and organized. Regarding skinny jeans and EDCing — it’s possible, but pocket clips really help with that. Suspending your gear (keychain on your belt, knife clipped to a pocket etc) can prevent bulging up in your pocket. Anyway, good job for just taking a stab at EDC (obviously not literally~~) and thanks for sharing!

My usual pocket dump:
-Spyderco Paramilitary2 S30V
-Olight T20
-Victorinox Spirit
-Seiko Kinetic (forgot the model)
-Samsonite wallet
-Samsung Wave 8500
-BrendaSport sunglasses
-DC4
-marker
-small prybar (my design)
Editor’s Note: Awesome gear for a fuller loadout. Victorinox Swisstools are great and that Para2 makes me sad my local laws probably won’t allow me to carry one… But really, great utilitarian loadout and nice work with the mini prybar! Thanks for sharing.

- Fossil bi-fold (hate tri-folds or front pocket wallets)
- Moleskine notebook
- Bic Clic pen that I found at work.
- Benchmade Mini-Griptilian.
- Carmex Mint.
- Droid Eris
- Fossil Manhattans
Editor’s Note: The Minigrip is a great EDC blade. Looks like a nice minimal carry, appropriate for the summer too. Thanks for sharing~

New reader here. Can’t believe I only just now discovered this site! Love it already. Here’s what’s on me every day, without fail:
- iPhone 4
- SOG Visionary II
- Bertucci A-2T
- Saddleback Leather wallet
- Burt’s Bees
- Keys
- Moleskine Cahier
- Fisher Bullet
I have my eye on an Embassy pen from County Comm once they come back in stock. And while some say the SOG is a little large for EDC, I carried a Kershaw Leek for a while and just found it too small (plus I love SOG’s recessed clip).
Editor’s Note: Nice, minimal carry with quality gear. Your choices are both lightweight and affordable for most, so good choices all around. I don’t think you can really go wrong with the Embassy pen, it gets rave reviews for EDC. Only complaint I hear from time to time about it is that you can’t screw the cap onto anything when writing with it. Oh and to make the shipping worth it throw in a Maratac AAA for your keychain >:3. Thanks for sharing!

My first pocket dump. I’ve finally got all the pieces I like for an everyday carry, so I decided to do my first pocket dump. These are the usual items I carry on a daily when I’m not at work.
Closewise starting with top left corner:
- Fossil Chronograph Watch
- iPhone 4 inside Incase Smoked Snapcase
- Boker Plus Credit Card Knife used as a money clip
- Paracord Bracelet with button fastener
- IMKING Coin Pouch (Purple) with extra lighter/change
- Spyderco Tenacious
- SOG Power Assist (Black Oxide)
- Surefire E2D LED Defender
- Sharpie
- Paracord Keychain with car/house keys
- Silver Zippo LighterI’m definitely going to keep updating this as I go, but for now, I’m pretty content with my daily carry.
Editor’s Note: You’ve done a good job for your first — it shows you’ve done a lot of research as well, which is great. Your EDC trinity has great bang-for-buck items in it, which I feel is important for primary EDC tools. I’d suggest picking up a stainless steel Sharpie too. It’s durable, hefty and takes refills (it would also look great with that Zippo). I like your backup gear, they’re unique and multifunctional (paracord lanyard, Kubasek knifeclip) but I have a feeling in the later iterations of your EDC you’ll slim it down a little… that’s what I ended up doing, anyway. Thanks for sharing and keep it up~

Daily carry:
• iPhone 4
• LV mini wallet
• Zodiac ZMX-01 watch
• Maglite X100 flashlight
• SOG PowerLock Multitool
• Benchmade 610 Rukus
• Ray-Ban 3388 Polarized sunglasses
Editor’s Note: Cool~ Your EDC trinity of blade/light/multitool looks to be a little on the larger side, so it makes sense that outside of that your carry is minimal and slim for some balance. Good choices all around, thanks for sharing!

Paracord bracelet, Leatherman Micra, Levenger Pocket Briefcase with fresnel magnifier and mini pen, Jawbone II, Movado diving watch, iPhone 4, Omron pedometer, three-part keyring (middle segment: Gerber mini Curve, 4Sevens Qmini CR2, Inka pen, iMation 1GB flash drive)
Editor’s Note: The pocket briefcase wallet thing is pretty neat! I think I prefer having my wallet and notebook separated (in my case specifically, to aid in pocket symmetry) but I definitely see the appeal of having everything in one place. The Fresnel lens is a logical addition to that, which IIRC can serve as a fire starter tool as well… Another thing I’d like to highlight is the three-part keyring — another interesting piece of hardware to introduce modularity to your keys in the event you need to slim down, add more, reorganize, etc. Thanks for sharing!

heirloom money clip
home depot keychain
Louis card holder
‘Emergency’ wool beer cozy by Orvis holds iPhone, micron pen & Field Notes.
Victorinox Infantry Vintage Chrono
Gerber Covert G-10
Editor’s Note: I like that ‘home depot keychain.’ Your local hardware store is a great place to look for inexpensive keyring solutions. I’ve gotten some hardware for both of my keychain setups in the key section and the chains/links section too. Also, that’s a clever use of a beer coozy as a sort of makeshift ‘urban wallet’… that’s the kind of multifunctional thinking I like to see from my contributors. I feel like I can’t end this note without suggesting adding a flashlight (Preon 2?) next to your pen in that coozy… anyway, thanks for sharing and keep it up!

My EDC, consisting of:
- cowskin wallet
- SOG B-67 EOD multitool.
- cheap S&W folder
- Alessi unisex watch
- my sketching prismacolor & ballpen case
- generic mini nail cutter
- keychain with Smith’s multipurpose sharpener ( I haven´t made a lanyard for it yet, I’m keeping it in the keyring in the meantime to avoid loosing it.)
Editor’s Note: Interesting… Usually, I imagine those tiny sharpeners to be in go bags/BOB kits for when someone expects to be out and using their knife for a while without a chance to go home and sharpen it. I sort of see the nail clippers the same way, but I guess it’s more common than I thought to carry a small set around. I also thought the carry might be a bit heavy for pocket/on person, but I see you’re making good use of that holster to free up pocket space. I’d suggest maybe getting a flashlight in there, maybe just a little one to replace the spot on your keychain where the sharpener is once you get a chance. Thanks for sharing~
