What is your favorite flashlight model design wise?

The first that come to mind (and I’ve seen a LOT of flashlights…)

Fenix PD20 Old Style

Ganp Griffin

Lupine P7

but basically if you browse stuff tagged as #flashlight it will be a reflection of my taste in flashlight design, more or less.

looking for a light similar to mini123 but clicky...suggestions?

Take a look at the Lumapower IncenDio V3 and the Zebralight SC30.

I'm looking for a knife along the lines of the Spyderco Miliary C36GPSBK but I rather not pay more than around ~$70-100 for it. Do you know anything similar that won't run as much?

This is similar in that it’s black, Spyderco, liner lock, S30V steel, etc. $91.32 shipped via Amazon.

Another Q for you B...was looking for a good edc pen, not looking for one with impact potential just one that wont clunk out on me due to constant carry and bumping. any suggestions? (trying to keep price to a min too)

Hmmm.. Maybe the Zebra F701? It’s an all stainless steel construction with some nice knurling. It seems to be popular enough in the EDC crowd so it must have something going for it (highly moddable too). Maxing out at maybe $6-15 it couldn’t hurt to try it.

What would you recommend as a primary, but compact, flashlight?

Hi Ben,

if you mean what I would recommend personally to anyone (non flashaholic), not considering their needs, tastes, budget, etc…I’d say Zebralight SC50w+ for click, 4sevens Mini AA for twist.

Now hit up candlepowerforums and start reading. B)

Hi. Major fan. Coming from the "Hype/Fashion" world, which you are clearly familiar with. I need a knife. Main uses are opening clothing boxes etc, but I want some EDC credibility. Do you have any guidelines for shopping on eBay? Th

Hi there.

Firstly, it’s kind of disconcerting to see Hype and Fashion used interchangeably. Secondly, how does that impact what knife purchase you are going to make? I assume if you buy a knife, you want to buy it for ‘EDC credibility,’ which I would probably call ‘utility’ and not as a fashion statement. Are you asking for a stylish, sheeple-friendly, non-tactical looking knife? If so, look into “gentleman’s folders.” Opinel seems to be a popular knife amongst the HYPE WORLD and if you’re just cutting boxes open it should serve you well. I personally like Al Mar but those can be a bit pricey…

Hopefully that’s a good start. Just do some research on your own and I’m sure you’ll find something you like.

EDIT: Re: eBay. Just don’t buy fakes. You can probably feel more comfortable buying from popular knife dealers or from respected members on knife forums, too.
