where do you keep your stuff? in pockets? in your bag?
Everything that I post in my lightbox as a pocket dump is kept in my pockets or on my belt (keys). Neatly stacking and proper weight distribution across 5-pocket jeans lets you carry a lot (or a little) gear in an efficient and comfortable way. Other things I leave in my bag, which I have yet to show on the blog. If you’re not sure how this works, take a look at two of my old pocket dump videos from before I started keeping this blog:
why do hardly any of the #pocketdump photos contain lighters? this seems like a common object. i see handguns and multiple knives but no lighers. any reason?
I think it’s because a lot of these pocket dumps are from non-smokers. Zippos leak/evaporate fuel quickly, Bic lighters aren’t the most durable, so I think only smokers who use lighters often and replace them often carry those types of lighters. Other air-tight lighters would be best suited for emergency situations and are probably in a bag and not in a pocket. Sometimes spy capsules on keychains contain a lighter insert, so it’s hard to tell if that dump contains a lighter or not.
any suggestions for an entry-level everyday, yet classy looking watch? I currently own a silver (black straps) G-shock. For more of the everyday/sports etc. But right now im looking something different. Ive been doing some research and taking an interest in russian watches...
lol du watches are really hard to make recommendations for imo. It’s hard to tell without knowing your style, wrist size, preferred movement, color preference, budget, etc… I know even less about Russian brands. My safe answer would be to look into the Seiko 5 line watches. They’re automatic (less maintenance sorta), decently sized (around 36mm to avoid clock-on-wrist), between $60-100, and look good on different straps (not sure if military is your steez).
I’ll leave this one up to the readers to leave suggestions via Disqus, maybe speedmaster can chime in?
I was wondering if you have a recommendation for a minimalist Wallet. I wanted to be to hold
3. Money with a Separate coin compartments
4. a Fisher Bullet space pen
So far I have only used the Chisco Surfshot wallet but it did not last me very long.
It’s kind of hard to gauge what everyone’s idea of minimalism is, especially since having a separate coin pocket + room for a pen seems like more than minimal to me… I also don’t carry a wallet myself, so I haven’t looked around for one before. However, I came across this wallet that seems to be endorsed by many other EDCF members:
In this video by ZRat98, he shows that he’s able to fit his Zebra F301 compact pen in the wallet. It should probably work for your Fisher as well. The double-stitched, 1000D nylon construction should probably hold up much better than your Surfshot.
Anyway, I hope this is a good place to start your search.
I've noticed that despite their relative obscurity, you have quite a few posts with Sinn watches. What draws your interest towards them?
I tried answering this question last night but tumblr was really buggy and the post didn’t go through and I lost my original answer.
To put it simply, I like the minimalism and classic styling. Thin bezels, highly legible arabic numerals, small window date and linear markers… the U series of divers doesn’t seem to follow this aesthetic so I’m more partial to the fliegers, but out of all the models, the EZM1 is my favorite.
lol kind of a bad answer but i hope it’s better than just ignoring your question ‘ㅅ’
